Our Team

Sarah Coker, LPC

Sarah Coker (she/her), deeply values genuine connection with her clients and being flexible to their unique needs while also providing structured, evidence-based support so that her client's see tangible progress. She is passionate about working with individuals who are queer, those with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) or traits of BPD, as well as those experiencing emotion dysregulation, self-harm, suicidal thoughts and behaviors, and those at the intersection of these identities and challenges.

Sarah primarily uses Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support individuals in balancing acceptance and change to create a life worth living with an explicit awareness and open examination of the oppressive systems that hinder this, particularly for those with marginalized identities.

Sarah has insight through lived experience, and is, herself, queer and was trained in DBT following her experience in DBT as a client.

Sarah completed her Master's with a focus on Advanced Clinical Practice at Columbia University School of Social Work, where she was a part of the school's DBT Training Program. She received her DBT intensive training through Behavioral Tech Institute. Sarah also holds a B.A. from Skidmore College. Prior to social work, Sarah worked in the foreign policy nonprofit sector.
